AMADEA - Children and Developement on Madagascar, was founded in 1986.

The association works with Madagascans in their struggle against poverty. This specificaly involves 4 key areas of focus:

a The protection of children
a Rural developement
a Environmental protection
a Making the wider world aware of the problems faces by Madagascans

In order to achieve these objectives AMADEA operates under the following philosophy:

- It is not for AMADEA to force its own concepts of developement on Madagascar, but rather to help Madagascans to be the masters of their own developement by using dialogue and cooperation to achieve a common goal.

- AMADEA always aims to satisfy local demand eminating from groups of villagers. If the propositions made by AMADEA did not correspond to the will of the people, the projects would not be a success.

- Among the propositions made by Madagascans, AMADEA favours those that can be reproduced and that benefit the greatest number of people.

- The actions of AMADEA are based apon tolerance and inclusivity and the respect of all cultural values and religions. AMADEA actively supports Madagascan with the respect of social identity.
